Capt. Vizena speaks to Eunice Elem. students

Eunice Elementary students learn valuable lesson from Capt. Vizena

Pictured above are St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena along with Eunice Elementary’s 21st Century Summer Tutoring students and Principal Mary Dupre. Capt. Vizena visited Eunice Elementary to speak to the children about anti-bullying and internet safety. She discussed different forms of bullying to children such as physical, verbal, cyber and emotional. Captain Vizena said, “Having a conversation about bullying is a good start. We want to give these students the chance to talk about what is happening in their schools.” “It’s our responsibility as role models to teach them how to resolve arguments without violent words or actions. These students need to know that they can report to their teacher or principal if they are being bullied,” Vizena added.
