She just needed to get her stuff
Police responded to a report of suspicious activity early Thursday at a house where a man had been found dead earlier in the night.
It turns out, according to records, that the deceased’s girlfriend was allegedly getting some of her things.
Shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday, the St. Landry coroner was called out to a house on Acadia Street after a man was found dead there. There was apparently no foul play involved.
About 1:30 a.m. today, police tot a call about a suspicious vehicle at the same address.
Responding officers discovered the front-door glass had been removed to allow entry into the house.
A woman who said she was the deceased’s girlfriend said she was there retrieving belongings that she had forgotten earlier. Records note she was accompanied by two men.
She was advised to leave.
Records do not indicate what the belongings were or why they had to be retrieved at that hour, or why entry had to be gained by removing the glass instead of with a key.
