Former police chief
ARNAUDVILLE – Services are July 3 for former Police Chief Michael Duplechain. He died July 1 at age 58.
He was chief from 1995 until 2003.
Survivors include his wife Linda, two sons and his mother.

Genealogist
LAFAYETTE – Services are July 5 for former La. Genealogical Society president Callie Pitre Avera. She died June 30 at age 70.
She was an area manager for the past three U.S. Censuses.
Survivors include a son and a daughter.

BellSouth exec
BATON ROUGE – Services for retired BellSouth district executive Royce Bordelon will be July 5. He died June 29 at age 92.
He was a two-tour U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II’s Pacific Theater, participating at Guadalcanal, New Georgia, Bougainville and Okinawa, and retired as BellSouth district construction supervisor.
Survivors include his wife Ella, two sons and a daughter.
