Former fire, police chief
MINDEN – Services for former fire chief and police chief T.C. Bloxom, Jr. will be July 15. He died July 12 at age 84.
He joined the fire department at age 14 during World War II and worked there 63 years, the last 37 as chief. He also worked for the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Dept., retiring as chief deputy. After nine years of retirement he was elected police chief, holding the post for five terms.
Survivors include his wire Pam and a daughter.

Tire exec
LAFAYETTE – Services will be July 15 for Bridgestone/Firestone tire executive Dane Moss. He died July 11 at age 50.
He was a 27-year employee of Bridgestone/Firestone and was director of new store openings for the United States at his death.
Survivors include a daughter and his parents.

Ford dealer
LAFAYETTE – Services for car dealer Jarvis Fortier, Sr. will be July 16. He died July 12 at age 86.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was co-owner and chairman of the board of Hub City Ford, one of the top 60 Ford dealerships in the nation. He was founder and manager of the dealership’s Truck Center.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor, three sons and a daughter.
