Two killed in head-on crash near Jonesville

A two-vehicle crash in La Salle Parish on Monday killed two people and injured two others.
Louisiana State Troopers responded to the crash at around 12:45 p.m. on Louisiana 28 near its intersection with U.S. 84.
The wreck involved a 1995 Ford pickup, driven by Margie W. Moore, 72, of Columbia, and a 2010 Cadillac, driven by Judith Hewitt, 68, of Ferriday.
State police said the Ford was traveling west on Louisiana 28 when Moore failed to observe that traffic was slowing. To avoid a rear-end collision, Moore crossed into the eastbound lane, striking the Cadillac.
Moore and her passenger, 83-year-old Bluith Moore of Columbia, were both pronounced dead.
Hewitt and her passenger, an unidentified 8-year-old girl from Ferriday, were taken to Rapides Regional Trauma Center in Alexandria with moderate to severe injuries.
