Librarian
LAFAYETTE – Services for long-time school librarian Edna Gray will be July 25. She died July 14 at age 82.
She taught first grade in St. Martin Parish before becoming librarian at Acadian High School. After retirement from that post, she was librarian at Remington College.
Survivors include her husband, Leander and a son.
Arrangements are by Syrie.
Fire chief
LECOMPTE – Services for long-time volunteer fire chief Billy Norris, Sr. will be July 24. He died July 21 at age 62.
He held numerous track records at Rapides High and joined the Lecompte volunteer department in 1992, becoming chief in 2002.
Survivors include his wife “Catsy” and three children.
Arrangements are by John Kramer & Son.
Medical exec
LAPLACE – Services for retired medical administrator John Berault will be July 27. He died July 12 at age 73.
He retired as CEO of the Medical Center of Louisiana (Charity and University Hospitals) in 2003. Previously he was an executive at several hospitals in the New Orleans area and in Florida.
Survivors include three children.
