WOW Lodge sets 911 Ceremony
In Honor and Rememberance Ceremony will be held Thursday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Eunice Circle Park.
The Woodmen of the World Lodges 976 & 243 in Eunice each year honor and remember those that lost their lives on 911.
“Woodmen of the World members and associates nationwide organize In Honor and Remembrance ceremonies each year,” said president of the Woodmen of the World Lodge 976 Evelyn Stringer.
“These ceremonies give members, family and friends a chance to grieve over the lives lost that tragic day and pay respect to the heroes who responded.”
The public is invited to attend the event.
The 911 ceremony, with cooperation with the City of Eunice, will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a color guard presentation by Boy Scout Troop 425.
Participating in the event will be the Mayor of Eunice, and representatives from Woodmen of World Lodge 976 & 143. Handheld flags will be given to all in attendance.
Woodmen of the World, along with the US government, is one of the leading purchasers of the flags each year. Members celebrate and honor the American flag throughout the year.
Woodmen of the World was founded in 1890 as a not-for-profit company.
“We give back to our customers and the communities we live in. More than 700,000 Woodmen of the World members across the country share a commitment to family, community and country,” said Stringer.
