Ortego seeking City Council Ward 1 seat

Jeremy Scott Ortego is a candidate for Eunice City Council Ward 1 in the November 4 primary election.
He is a lifelong resident of Eunice, raised by his parents, Steven Ortego and Marcia Ortego.
Ortego is a 2004 graduate of Eunice High School, where he met his wife, Francine (Aucoin) Ortego. They have been married for five years. He is also an alumnus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Education in 2009.
The couple has three children, Catherine, a student at East Elementary, Natalie, 2, and Cedric, a newborn.
Ortego is an active parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where he serves as a Eucharistic minister, Confirmation teacher, and Vice-Chairman of the parish council.
Ortego has been a non-destructive testing technician with Versa Integrity Group in Broussard for over three years.
