Policy expert
LAFAYETTE – Services for public policy expert Dr. Alison Neustrom will be Sept. 14. She died Sept. 10 at age 42.
She was research director of Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana. Prior to that she was vice president of Public Policy at Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations and assistant secretary, Office of Family Services. She had previously worked as senior research analyst at the Center for Families, Children and the Courts under the Administrative Office of the Courts, Judicial Council of California, San Francisco.
Survivors include her husband Dave and a daughter.

NEW ORLEANS – Services are pending for recording engineering legend Cosimo Matassa. He died Sept 11 at age 88.
Artists recording at his two French Quarter studios int he 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s included Fats Domino, Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Jimmy Clanton, Lloyd Price and many other national and area singers.
Matassa was a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Grammy Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame.
