Ollie Alfred, senior Chat-A-While charter member

Visitation for Ollie Mae Alfred, 90, will be on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 8:00 am to 10:45 am with funeral services following at 11:00 am, both at New Zion Baptist Church, 251 Nimitz Street, Eunice with Pastor Allen W. Ben officiating. Interment will follow in the Honey Bee Cemetery in Eunice.
She died at her resident on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 12:52 pm.
She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church, a member of the Deaconess Board, Senior Mission, former Youth Department Director, former Senior Choir member and a member of Sunday School. She was the oldest Charter Member of Chat-A-While and a former Eastern Star member.
Survivors include one son, Donald G. Alfred, Sr. and his wife, Maudry of Eunice; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Alver Alfred and her parents: Shedd and Sarah Ross.
Pallbearers will be: Donald Alfred, Jr., Kelly Hosea Alfred, James Edwards, Christopher Fontenot, Roy Thomas, Jr., and Tyler Alfred.
