Woman held in shooting of her parents

A 27-year-old Washington woman is being questioned by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Detectives for allegedly shooting her parents.
According to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at approximately 9:10PM, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on the Grand Prairie Highway near Washington. Upon arrival, deputies found 27 year-old, Jamie Fontenot sitting on the front porch bearing a firearm. Deputies were able to safely detain Fontenot with no incident.”
“Two victims, Fontenot’s 59 year-old father and 58 year-old mother, were both taken to the nearest hospital for their injuries. The male victim is currently in critical condition while the female victim was treated and released.” Guidroz said.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena said, “At this point in the investigation, Fontenot is being questioned by detectives and charges are pending. We will release new information as it becomes available.”
