Theresa Reed Sonnier

Mallet—Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mallet, LA, for Mrs. Lumas Sonnier, the former Theresa Reed. Rev. Justin Arockiasamy, S.V.D. will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery in Mallet, LA.
Theresa was a lifelong resident of Swords, LA. She passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at her residence. She was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mallet, LA, and the Ladies’ Altar Society. For many years, she was employed by the State of LA Health Department and Moosa Memorial Hospital as a C. N. A.
She was born on November 7, 1926, to the late Amos Reed and former Adoresta Guillory. She dedicated her life to sharing her blessings and love with everyone in her family and serving God.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Sonnier (Gloria) of Swords; three daughters, Brenda Thibeaux (Larry), of Swords; Gail White (Moses) of Lafayette; and Debra Goodly (Woody) of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a beloved husband, Lumas Sonnier; a dear son, Patrick Dwight Sonnier; an infant daughter, Barbara Faye Sonnier; an infant son, Carrol Lance Sonnier; her parents, Amos Reed and Adoresta Guillory Reed; four sisters, Eula Reed, Della Reed Guillory, Clarice Reed Guillory, and Anice Sonnier; one brother, William Reed; and a dear niece, Leotha Rene.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mallet, LA. A Rosary service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Ann Catholic Church.
