Lady Bengals open fall season

The defending NJCAA Division II national champion LSU Eunice softball team opened its 2014 fall schedule on Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep over Team Louisiana.
Over the fall, the Lady Bengals will play in four tournaments hosted by NCAA Division I schools.
Overall, the Lady Bengals will square off against NCAA Division I schools nine times, as well as contests against NCAA Division III and an NAIA foes in addition to games against NJCAA opponents.
LSU Eunice traveled to Hammond on Wednesday for a doubleheader against Southeastern Louisiana University.
On Sunday, the Lady Bengals travel to Sulphur to play three contests (vs. Nicholls State, Louisiana College and Lamar State-Port Arthur) in the McNeese State-hosted Cowgirl Classic.
LSU Eunice begins October with a road doubleheader at Northwestern on Oct. 4 before playing three games (vs. Baton Rouge Community College, UL-Monroe and LSU) on Oc. 12 in the LSU-hosted tournament.
Following a pair of games (vs. University of Houston-Victoria and University of Houston) in Houston on Oct. 19, the Lady Bengals will travel back to Baton Rouge for a midweek doubleheader against LSU on Oct. 22.
On Oct. 25, they travel to Ruston for a pair of games (vs. Tyler Junior College and Louisiana Tech) in the Louisiana Tech-hosted tournament before rounding out the fall with a doubleheader against UL-Lafayette on Oct. 29.
