Banker
ST. MARTINVILLE – Services for banker Larry Comeaux, Sr. will be Oct. 4. He died Oct. 2 at age 85.
He was president and CEO of St. Martin Bank & Trust for 47 years. After retiring in 2002, he was chairman of the board until 2012 and chairman emeritus until his death. He was a long-time member of the First National Bankers Board.
Survivors include his wife Hazel, a son and two daughters.

Tulane/Newcomb professor
NEW ORLEANS – Services for retired Tulane/Sophie Newcomb College professor and literary documents expert Dr. Joseph Cohen will be Oct. 6. He died Sept. 25 at age 88.
He was on the Tulane/Newcomb faculty for 36 years, retiring as associate dean of Newcomb. He established the Newcomb College Center for Research on Women , served as president of the National Collegiate Honors Council and founded and served as first director of the Jewish Studies Program at Tulane.
He established the Gulf South Jewish Historical Archive and published and edited four book, 50 scholarly articles and more than 200 hundred book reviews. In 2003, the University of South Carolina established the Joseph Cohen Collection of World War I Literature. Cohen collected and sold antique books and was called upon often to authenticate and/or appraise literary collector’s items, letters and documents.
Survivors include his wife Theodora and several step-children.
