Former legislator
METAIRIE – Services for former legislator and grocer Elwyn Nicholson will be Oct. 17. He died Sept. 28 at age 90.
He was a four-term state senator from Jefferson Parish and was president of Nicholson and Loup Food Giant.
Survivors include his wire Rose and two children.
Arrangements are by Westside Leitz-Eagan.

Orthopedic surgeon
NEW ORLEANS – Services for orthopedic surgeon Dr. Wilmot “Wil” Ploger will be Oct. 15. He died Oct. 10.
He was a MASH unit veteran of the Vietnam War and was past president and trustee of Mercy Hospital. He was also on the staffs of Montelepre and Chalmette hospitals and East Jefferson Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife Jeanette and three daughters.
Arrangements are by Lakelawn.

Cane farmer
ST. JAMES – Services for sugar cane farmer and banker Cyrille Waguespack will be Oct. 16. He died Oct. 13 at age 95.
He was a founding member of the St. James Sugar Co-Op and served on the board of First American Bank and Trust and on the St. James Parish School Board.
Survivors include seven children.
Arrangements are by Ourso.

Forester
NORWOOD – Services for former Forester of the Year Nettie “Tat” Reed will be Oct. 16. She died Oct. 11 at age 93.
She was a retired teacher and was active in the Louisiana Forestry Association. She was state Forester of the Year in 1997 and the Feliciana Forestry winner in 2014. She was the first female board member of the Feliciana Forestry Association.
Survivors include a son and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Charlet.
