Robert 'Sonny' Spears

Robert “Sonny” Spears died on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was 79. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Durio Cemetery with Pastor Orville Rogers officiating.
“Sonny” was a retired farmer and cattleman.
Survivors include his wife, Dolorous “Sis” Spears; and two sons, Brent Spears and wife, Cindy and Todd Spears and wife, Francine all of Reddell; his brother, Donny Spears of Ville Platte; his sister, Joy Duplechian of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, Kyle Spears, Dustin Spears, Krista LeBouef, Julie Fontenot, Jonathon Spears, Shem Spears, Nathanael Spears, Morgan Reed and Sloan Clark; 18 great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Ky, Kera, Karmyn Spears, Abe, Dalin, Paizlyn and Kayson Spears, Kaden, Tannon and Josie Lebouef, Jenna and Layna Fontenot, Karli and Baylee Clark and Japheth Spears, Conner and Matthew Reed.; one great-great-grandchild, Linda Shyanne Douget.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Julia McCoy Spears; two sisters, Betty Aguillard and Gussie Ann Boyett.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s until time of services.
