High-speed chase ends with taser shot

A Eunice man who evidently thought he could elude police led them on a high-speed chase that ended at his Ulysses Street residence.
Records indicate that George Alan Thomas, III, 21, was driving a vehicle that an officer attempted to pull over about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Instead of stopping, Thomas allegedly sped west on Laural Avenue, reaching speeds of about 100 miles per hour, according to reports.
He turned left on 4th Street, ran stop signs at Park Avenue and West Oak, took a right on Maple, a left on Jelks, a right on Acadia, ran a stop sign at Fuselier and turned on Ulysess.
After exiting the vehicle and allegedly trying to elude officers, Thomas was tasered before being arrested.
The 15-year-old girl riding with Thomas was not charged. She was turned over to her mother after being advised of her rights.
Thomas is charged with aggravated flight, failure to secure registration, contributing to delinquency, no proof of insurance and speeding.
