Ochsner CEO
NEW ORLEANS – Services for Ochsner Health System CEO Emeritus Dr. Frank Riddick, Jr. will be Nov. 3. He died Oct. 29.
He was medical director/CEO of the Ochsner Clinic for 26 years and CEO of the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation for 11 years until merger of the separate entities into Ochsner Clinic Foundation.
Over the years of his management roles the Ochsner Institutions were converted from a single site traditional fee- for-service specialized center to one offering the full spectrum of services to a broad based population in the southeastern region of Louisiana. Hospital, Clinic and Research facilities on the Jefferson Highway campus grew significantly. The professional staff quintupled in size to about 500 physicians. Some 23 neighborhood primary care facilities were established in the metropolitan New Orleans area and an 80-physician regional clinic in Baton Rouge. The Ochsner-owned health plan was founded and grew into a federally qualified health maintenance organization with 225,000 subscribers, also offering other managed care products on a state-wide basis.
Survivors include his wif Mary and three children.

Halliburton engineer
LAFAYETTE – Services for retired Halliburton engineer and UL Lafayette professor Donald Weintritt, Sr. will be Nov. 1. He died Oct. 27 at age 88.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired as supervisor of Oilfield Products Laboratories and held a number of patents. He was an instructor in chemical engineering at UL Lafayette and operated Weintritt Testing Laboratories.
Survivors include his wire Comfort, four sons and two daughters.
