Hoychick, Brown lead City Judge absentee count; Fontenot, Cole pace chief's count

Terry Hoychick led absentee voting in Tuesday's primary for Eunice City Judge with 34.3 percent, followed by Paul Brown, 24.5; Josie Frank, 22.7; and Jay Caswell 18.3.
They seek to succeed the retiring Judge Lynette Feucht.
In the police chief race, Randy Fontenot got 38 percent of absentee votes, with Raymond Cole getting 29.7. Others in the race are incumbent Ronald Dies, 19 percent; Bart Thibodeaux, 8.7; and JoJo Reed, 4.3.
Fontenot, Cole and Thibodeau are all former Eunice officers. Incumbent Dies is a retired Louisiana State Trooper.
Gerard Caswell had 68 percent of the early vote in the district judge post vacated by Ellis Daigle, who chose to run for district attorney. Scherri Guidry and 32 percent.
Incumbent City Marshal Terry Darbonne had 81 percent to challenger's Ron Valenta's 19.
Alderman at-large Jack Burson, seeking a sixth term, had 58 percent to former Ward 3 council member Chawana Fontenot's 42.
Ward 3 incumbent Jr. Bergeron had 37 percent compared to challenger Nootsie Sattler's 63.
In School Board District 12 Roland Miller, currently Ward 1 city councilman, had 43 percent. Albert Hayes, Jr. had 30; Donna Baltakis 13 and Will Stevens 13.
In School Boarfd District 13 retired principal Mary Ellen Donatto had 55 percent of the early vote and incumbent Harry Fruge had 45.
