Insurance agent, La. Tech letterman
CROWLEY – Services are Dec. 4 for insurance agent and four-sport Louisiana Tech letterman Thomas LaHood. He died Nov. 30 at age 91.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II’s Pacific theater. He lettered in football, baseball, basketball and track at La. Tech University. He operated an insurance agency here for more than 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter.
Arrangements are by Geesey-Ferguson.

Baptist theologian
BATON ROUGE – Services for minister, missionary, counselor and theologian Dr. Malcolm Tolbert will be Dec. 13. He died Nov. 27 at age 90.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II’’s European theater. He the 1950s he served as a missionary in Brazil. In the 1960s he joined the faculty of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, teaching Greek, New Testament and Theology. In the 1970s he was called to pastor First Baptist Church, Gainesville, Ga., then returned to teaching at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, S.C. He was the author of six books on theology for ministers and lay people.
Survivors include four children.

Retired aviator, noted golfer
SHREVEPORT – Services for insurance executive, retired U.S. Air Force colonel and noted amateur golfer William Crenshaw, Jr. will be Dec. 3. He died Nov. 28 at age 81.
He was a veteran of the Strategic Air Command and of the Vietnam War. He was a Lincoln National Life representative. He was lead member of the Ole Miss golf team for four years.
Survivors include his wife Joyce and three children.

Broadway music coach
WEST MONROE – Services for Broadway pianist and musical coach George “Sand” Lawn, Jr. will be Dec. 6. He died Nov. 29 at age 73.
He coached aspiring performers in the art of performing during auditions for musical roles and made three tours to Japan to do the same. He worked with several touring companies as the Musical Director for plays such as Sugar Babies, Nunsence, Annie Get Your Gun, and Chorus Line. He played the role of Oscar, the onstage piano player with a Broadway Touring Company production of 42nd Street. He was with Dorothy Collins and the Hip Parade Review. His last musical fanfare before returning to West Monroe was as Music Director with Grease-Das Musical 95-96 in Berlin.
Survivors include a brother and a sister.
Arrangements are by Kilpatrick.

NEW ORLEANS – Services for commercial real estate developer Joseph “J.J.” Ranna will be Dec. 4. He died Nov. 30 at age 90.
He was a U.S. Navy officer veteran of World War II. His noted developments include One Shell Square and other major high-rise office buildings in Chicago, Miami and Columbus, Ohio.
Survivors include two children.
Arrangements are by Lake Lawn.
