Central Middle "gives back" to community

Central Middle students "gives back" to community

Recently students at Central Middle School “gave back to the community” by conducting a Holiday Food Drive. Principal R. Landry added, “All items were donated to three area churches who have been tremendously supportive of our school-Our Savior’s Church, Word Ministries and Greater True Light Baptist Church have been instrumental in reaching out to Central Middle through mentoring efforts and volunteerism.” Students at Central Middle exceeded all expectations when they were challenged by their principal in contributing to the food drive. Fifth- and sixth-graders collected approximately 2,300 items during the six-day food drive. Principal Ranolviaun Landry and administrative assistant David Harper, added, “We wanted our school to give back to those who gave to us and make it a community project.” Pictured from left are Pastor Jermaine Tezeno of Greater True Light Baptist Church, Pastor Jamie Tyler of Our Savior’s Church, Pastor Caleb Semien and Assistant Pastor Guy Joseph of Word Ministries.
