Economics professor
ABBEVILLE – Services for retired economics professor Dr. Walter Primeaux, Jr. will be Jan. 7. He died Jan. 4 at age 86.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the University of Illinois as Distinguished Professor Emeritus.
Survivors include his wife Natalie and seven children.
Arrangements are by Vincent.

Pioneer Ob-Gyn
SHREVEPORT – Services for physician and businessman Dr. Joseph Talbot will be Jan. 8. He died Jan. 3 at age 100.
He was a pioneer in Ob-Gyn at Tri-State Hospital, later to become Willis-Knighton Hospital, where he organized the first Obstetrics Department with Dr. Thomas Glass. He delivered more than 6,000 babies during his career. He served as chief of staff and president of the hospital at different times.
Survivors include three children.
Arrangements are by Rose-Neath.
