VFW & Ladies Auxiliary offer Continuing Education Scholarship
A Continuing Education Scholarship, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars & Ladies Auxiilary, is extended and offered to all students who qualify.
This scholarship is to assist members who wish to further their education by pursuing a college degree or a career direction to a technical school. Only the spouse, daughter and son of a member are also eligible to apply.
Applicant must be 18 or older. Qualifying member must have been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW for one year prior to application. Previous national winners are not eligible. Junior Girls Scholarship Contest Eligibility: Junior girls ages 13-16, who have been a member for at least one year and have held an office. You must have served your Post, Ladies Auxiliary and community with excellence. Are your grades and school activities exemplary? Now all you have to do is apply. Previous national first-place winners may not reapply, but previous Department first-place winners may reapply. Deadlines: Entries to Ladies Auxiliary Chairman by March 11. Dept. Chairman – one winner from each unit by March 25 and one winner from each Dept. received at National Headquarters by April 7. (Send this certified.)
Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards: Art must be on paper or canvas. Water color, pencil, pastel, charcoal, tempera, crayon, acrylic, pen-and-ink, or oil may be used. Digital art is not accepted. Theme: Patriotic Only: Do not frame. Submit canvas entries on stretcher frames.
Other entries must be matted on white. Do not use other color mats. In matting, use heavy paper to reinforce back. Mounted and floating mats may also be used. The art should be no smaller than 8” X 10” but no larger than 18” X 24”, not including mat. Grades: 9th -12th. Deadline: March 31.

The first-place winner at the Dept. level then advances to National for all Scholarship Programs.
