Washington MArion rolls to sweep over Eunice

After the Lady Cats (4-9, 1-2) fell 45-34 to Washington-Marion, the Chargin’ Indians completed the sweep with a 85-43 win Friday night at the Eunice High gym.
The Bobcats, now 4-13 overall and 0-2 fin District 4-4A, struggled in the early going against the Indians, making just one field goal and two free throws to trail by a 29-4 margin at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter went better for the Bobcats as they were outscored by a 22-16 margin to trail 51-20 at the half.
Washington-Marion continued their dominance in the second half, outscoring the Cats by a margin of 34-23.
Quajae Boutte led the scoring for the Indians with 25 points. Boutte hit 10 field goals, including one from 3-point range, and finished four of four from the free-throw line. Joshua Porche and Jeremiah Ellis also hit the double-digit mark with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
The Bobcats were led in scoring by sophomore Kevin Williams with 20 points. Williams hit six field goals, including one 3-pointer, and made seven of nine free throws.
Malik Poullard and Terryl Poullard added six points apiece for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats will continue district play Tuesday night when they travel to face LaGrange in Lake Charles.
