Diane Mitchell

Services for Diane Lee Darby Mitchell, 66, will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 am with the visitation beginning at 7:00 am until service time at the Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice, LA. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Rev. Jermaine Tezeno will conduct the funeral ceremony.
She died on Thursday, January 8, 2014 in St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas, LA.
Survivors include her husband: Ernest Mitchell, Jr. of Eunice, LA; two daughters: Arianna (Jerry) Douglas and Bethany Mitchell both of Eunice, LA; five sons: Ernest (Patina) Mitchell, III and Andre (Toisha) Mitchell both of Eunice, LA; Gary (Denise) Mitchell of Lake Charles, LA, Elliot (Kylie) Mitchell of Crowley, LA and Gregory (Mauraen) Mitchell of Houston, Texas; two sisters: Marie Martha Darby and Brenda Allen both of Eunice, LA; four brothers: Fondas “Sonny” (Etta) Darby of Eunice, LA, Michael (Sharon) Darby of Vallerjo, Calif.; Henry “Picou” (Paula) Darby, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Paul (Barbara) Darby of Grand Prairie, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Almerdia Darby, Sr.; and three brothers: Sam and Ralph Darby and Raymond Victorian and her mother and father-in-law.
