Eunice Community Art House presents Shoebox Mardi Gras Float Contest
The Eunice Community Art House presents a fundraiser for Eunice students to participate- A Shoebox Mardi Gras Float Contest.
Students should compile to the following rules to enter: 1) Qualifying entries must be a Team Project.
2) Each Elementary School classroom in Eunice may submit one Shoebox Mardi Gras Float.
3) The Shoebox can be no larger than an adult’s tennis shoebox. (No boot size boxes due to space limitations.)
4) Shoeboxes must have “wheels” and a cord to pull the float. (Wheels do not have to turn.)
5) A 4x6 index card must be attached to the underside of the float with: School’s Name, Teacher & Grade.
6) Shoeboxes must be turned in to the Art House between Wednesday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 7. No entries will be accepted after 2 p.m. on Feb.7.
Art House hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. ,
The public will be able to cast their vote for their favorite float beginning the week before Mardi Gras and ending at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Votes are $1 each and the classroom float that raises the most money will be treated to a Pizza and Ice Cream Party in March.
Ribbons will be placed for: Most Creative, Cajun Classic, Totally Unpredictable, Historically Accurate & Mayor’s Selection.
This is a fund-raiser for The Art House which hosts several Free art lessons throughout the year for our community.
