EHS Senior Projects benefits Eunice residents
Eunice High School Senior Project requires students to develop a plan to address a need in their community and present a solution. The above senior team, Trae Miller, left, Tyler Trosclair, Jordan Comeaux and Alec Trosclair held a “non-food” drive to benefit the elderly residents of Eunice. The students contacted the managers of Divine Providence I, Sweetridge Apartments, and Goodhope Place Apartments to develop a list of items that are often needed, but usually not received from local food banks and other programs. The team made contacts through friends, family and a recent donation drive at a local business for donations. The team assembled the boxes over different December weekends. On Dec. 29 the team delivered 31 boxes full of household goods to residents at each home selected at random by each housing manager. Each box contained a minimum of 16 items, which included: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, laundry detergent, cotton balls or swabs, dish liquid, household cleaner, deodorant, facial tissue, paper towels, and trash bags. The senior team wishes to acknowledge and thank all who donated to their project.
