Pictured, from left, are St. Edmund “Duke Tipsters” Robert Broussard, Clayton Hebert, Philippe Soileau, all fifth-graders, and Juliette Broussard, fourth-grader, as they were getting ready to take the ACT Explore test at St. Leo Seton in Lafayette. The Duke Talent Identification Program allows qualified students to take out of grade level standardized tests to better assess their academic talents. The ACT Explore test is routinely given to 8th and 9th graders as a primer to help determine strengths and weaknesses as they begin High School in preparation of eventually taking the ACT. These young students, based on their possible ACT Explore scores, may qualify for advanced grade level work in on-line courses and Summer academic programs at major universities away from home.
