Pediatrician
ALEXANDRIA – Services are pending for long-time pediatrician Dr. C.V. Ready. He died Feb. 2 at age 72 while visiting in his native India.
He operated Cenla Children’s Clinic, practicing here for almost 40 years. He was former Chief of Pediatrics at both hospitals here.
Pharmacist
CARENCRO – Services are Feb. 6 for pharmacist Paul Guilbeau. He died Feb. 4 at age 78.
He began his career in Crowly, then with Dr. James Clause brought a pharmacy and medical practice to Carencro. Guilbeau’s Pharmacy continues to operate.
Survivors include his wife Donna and several children.
Arrangements are by Melancon.
WW2 aviator
SHREVEPORT – Services for businessman John Fetzer, Jr. will be Feb. 7. He died at age 94.
He formerly operated a family dairy on what is now Lakeshore Drive and owned and operated several businesses during his working live. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, flying a P-47 fighter escorting heavy bombers. He was a veteran of the D-Day invasion.
Survivors include several children.
Arrangements are by Osborne.
Teacher, columnist
RUSTON – Services for teacher and newspaper columnist Sara Wafer will be Feb. 6. She died Feb. 4.
She taught in Claiborne, East Carroll and Caddo Parishes. After retiring she was hostess of the Lincoln Parish Museum and wrote a regular column, “Windows”, for the Ruston Daily Leader.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Rose-Neath, Shreveport.
