EHS holds Academic Renaissance Pep Rally
Eunice High School presented its 18th annual “Academic Emmy Awards” Pep Rally Friday morning.
The Renaissance program reflected many honored students (freshmen-seniors) who excelled in academics, club awards, perfect attendance, Accelerated Reader program, FBLA awards, ACT 22+ Club members, High GPA students, Most Improved students, Student of the Year, Straight A’s, EOC Top Scorers, and much, much more.
Students received free T-shirts, prizes, gift cards and a grand prize winner of an iPad Mini was named. Gunner Fontenot, a sophomore student, was pleasantly surprised.
Students, dressed as they would to receive Emmy Award, were entertained by music and enjoyed popular line dancing. Other talented students sang their favorites or gave a performance, those included: Grant Clancy, Thelma Guillory, Dejah Bushnell, Dailyn Ardoin, and Brayden Gaspard.
ACT 22+ Club members, senior students earning a 27+ or over, were honored. They included: Lauren Vidrine, 30; Logan Dischler, 29; Graham Hillman, 28; Kylie Miller, 28; Macy Ceaser, 27.
ACT 22+Club members earning 25-26 are: Derek Ardoin, Kiersten Darbonne, Jacob George, Heidi Pitre, Alex Sonnier, Layni Trosclair and Braylon Williams.
ACT 22+ Club members with scores of 22-24 included: Brooke Jones, Connor Cormier, Dylan Reed, Hunter Aguillard, Kameron Darbone, Matthew Brown, Nicholas Seilhan, Sean Manuel, Shawntez Guidry, Taylor Murray, Titus Davis, Ty Ceaser, and Wesley Guillory.
Students recognized for earning straight “A’s during school period thus far were: Olivia Adamson, Fernando Bustos, Jyhreh Johnson, Katlyn Joubert, Hannah Menard, Sadie Middlebrooks, Camron Mire, Caroline Mire, Vivian Mire, Richlyn Prather, Hailey Thibodeaux, Elise Velez and Lauren Vidrine.
Perfect Attendance students recognized included Gage Alleman, Derek Ardoin, Taneisha Chavis, Tarneishia Chavis, Ajyh Johnson, Casey Lejeune, Richard Newman, William McLemore, Marion Oglesby, William Oglesby and Nisha Orebeaux.
