Acadia Parish registrar plans voter education week

Billie Myer, Acadia Parish registrar of voters, plans to conduct voter education week from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4.
The registrar and staff will travel throughout the parish delivering registration applications to participating agencies and the parish library.
Meyer encourages Louisiana residents 17 years old and up, who are not registered, to take advantage of the opportunity.
The registrar’s office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The deadline to register for the Oct. 24 gubernatorial primary election is at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 23.
Citizens can register online at www.GeauxVote.com, at the parish registrar of voters office, while obtaining service at Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, public schools, colleges and libraries or by mail.
