Arlene Tucker has been appointed vice chancellor for business affairs at LSU Eunice.
Two men are returning to Eunice as band instructors. Dwight Jodon, a 1987 Eunice High graduate, will take over the EHS music department. Paul DeRousselle will be music department chairman at Central Middle and Eunice Junior High schools.
Three Eunice students have received their medical degrees. Fraser Landreneau is doing his neurosurgery residency in Dallas, Texas. Bernard Veillon is doing his radiology residency in Jackson, Miss. and David Fontenot is a family practice specialist.
Randall Vigee’ has been named vice president by the Tri-Parish Bank board, according to President E. Warner Veillon.
Eunice’s Derrick Ned had an impressive performance in the Saints first exhibition game as the former Eunice High and Grambling start competes as a full back for a roster spot. However, he suffered a shoulder injury that will keep him out of the next game.
Sunny Vidrine, a 17-year-old freshman at LSU Eunice is the new Miss Eunice. She is the daughter of Terry Vidrine and Judy Pedigo. She intends to study occupational therapy.
Moosa Memorial Hospital has opened its 10-bed Behavioral Health Unit for patients needed mental health attention.
Buddy Street won the Men’s Tennis Summer Singles B-Flight. Tim Longman finished second and Wayne Wimberly was third.
Edwin Edwards revealed at an Evangeline Parish dinner that he will seek a fifth term in 1995.
New staff and faculty at St. Edmund’s this fall include Joan Richard, Sullivan Fontenot, Lori Moosa and Monica Stephens.
Fred Charlie has opened a commerical recording studio in the KBAZ Radio building.
The City Council voted to raised the base gas rate, the first increase since 1981. The new revenue will help pay for new pipes in the system. The increase is 25 cents per thousand cubic feet.
