“During my first term in office, I have served as your parish vice president from 2014 to present and have been chairman of several committees. The Police Jury has replaced numerous pieces of equipment in the Road Department and at the landfill. The Road Department received three tractors, three boom mowers, three flex-wing bush hogs, a Cheetah mower, excavator, dump truck, sign truck, six pickup trucks and three Pipe Hunter culvert cleaners. The landfill received two dozers, two articulated dump trucks, wheel loader, excavator, compactor and two grapple trucks.
“Several projects were completed throughout the parish. Approximately 45 miles of roads were resurfaced. In District 8, those roads included Fournerat, St. Jules, a portion of Ellis and a portion of Riverside Road. Also, the Fabacher Road Bridge and Vie Terre Beau Bridge were reconstructed and Phase 3 was completed at the landfill with a new cell.
The election is scheduled Oct. 24.
