Williams grabs top honors

Church Point exploded for 62 points and 581 yards of total offense in the Bears’ 62-42 win over Jennings.
Frederick Williams finished with 242 yards rushing and touchdowns of 2, 44 and 4 yards.
Williams also had two receptions for 80 yards including a 68-yard touchdown for 322 yards of total offense.
For his efforts, Williams was selected Eunice News Player of the Week for Sept. 20-26.
Other top performances included:
Basile runningback Gabe Fontenot had 223 yards on 30 carries with touchdown runs of 35 and 12 yards. Fontenot also had a 14-yard touchdown catch from Tray David in the Bearcats’ 26-18 win over Logansport
St. Edmund quarterback Drake Brunet completed 19-of-33 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown in the Blue Jays’ 39-17 loss to Port Barre.
Blue Jay Gibson LaFleur had 10 catches for 127 yards rushing and he also scored on a 54 yard fumble recovery.
Eunice High quarterback Alex Richard completed 15-of-26 of 204 yards including a 65 yard touchdown strike to Travis Godfrey.
Kylance Castille had 133 yards on 16 carries, while Trey Babineaux finished with 106 yards on 14 carries with a 8 yard touchdown run in No. 9 Church Point’s win.
Iota quarterback Trae Rambin completed 14-of-27 passes for 125 yards with theee touchdowns in the Bulldogs 61-24 loss to Welsh.
Iota runningback Kaleb Guillory had 22 carries for 125 yards.
