Eunice, parish sales tax revenue retreats a little

Eunice sales tax revenue in September was $427,084, down 0.7 percent from the same month a year ago.
But the city’s sales revenue for the year continues to show an increase, according to a report from the St. Landry Parish School Board Sales/Use Tax Department.
Eunice sales tax revenue through September was $3,981,603, a 1.4 percent increase over the same period in 2014.
The sales tax rate in Eunice totals 9.75 percent, which includes 4 percent, state; 3.55 percent parish; 2.2 percent city.
September’s total sales tax revenues in the parish were $5,150,181, a 4 percent decrease from the September 2014 collections.
The parish total sales tax revenue from January through September is running 3 percent ahead of 2014. At the end of September sales taxes had generated $49,966,261. In 2014, the total at the end of September was $48,461,338.
The parish sales tax total includes all municipal, school, law enforcement, solid waste and road district revenues.
Eunice sales tax revenues by month for 2015 are:
January — $532,171;
February — $401,951;
March — $410,951;
April — 475,447;
May — $425,275;
June — $425,084;
July — $475,637;
August — 408,120; and
September — 427,084.
