Eunice's man jail death investigated

Eunice police are investigating the death of Michael Edwards, 36, of Eunice. who was held in the Eunice City Jail, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Edwards was serving a 15-day sentence for disturbing the peace, but died Friday after being in jail 12 days, he said.
“His death appears to be by natural cause,” Fontenot said. “We are investigating the circumstances of his death.”
Edwards was found unresponsive at about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the jail and take to Acadian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Fontenot said.
Fontenot said other inmates noticed Edwards wasn’t responsive.
