Parish, city sales tax revenue slips
Sales tax revenue slipped in Eunice and in St. Landry Parish in November compared to November 2014 collections, but year-to-date revenues are slightly ahead of those in 2014, according to a report from the St. Landry Parish School Board Sales Tax Division.
Year-to-date sales tax revenues in Eunice, as of November, are 1 percent ahead of those in 2014. The $4,854,757 collected through November is $351,081 less than 2014’s total of $5,205,883.
St. Landry Parish’s total sales tax revenue year-to-date is 2.3 percent greater than the 2014 total through November. As of November, the parish sales tax collections reached $60,572,815.
Parish sales revenues totaled $64,359,225 in 2014.
The parish sales tax total includes parish, school, solid waste, law enforcement and municipal taxes.
On month-to-month comparisons sales tax revenues fell in November.
In Eunice, sales taxes collections were down 4 percent from October to November when revenues totaled $427,429.
The November Eunice revenue was down 2.7 percent from 2014’s $439,305.
The St. Landry Parish November revenues of $4,724,516 represented an 11 percent decline from October’s total of $5,882,038.
November’s parish revenues were down 1.7 percent from November 2014’s 5,325,160.
The sales tax rate in Eunice is 9.75 percent. Of that 4 percent is state, 3.55 percent is parish and 2.2 percent is city.
Unincorporated areas pay an 9.5 percent sales tax revenue, which includes 4 percent state and 5.5 percent state rates.
