A Eunice teenager returning from a trapping trip with two friends was killed when they vehicle turned over on La. 26 north of the city.
The Rotary Club named auto dealer Otere LaHaye its Citizen of the Year.
The Police Jury rejected a list of nominees for the Eunice hospital board made by a group of civic and women’s organizations, instead appointing five nominees submitted by unnamed parties. Appointed were John Clark, Frank Duplechin, Murphy Guillory, J.B. Lewis Sr. and Wilson Moosa.
