Jamborees kick off softball, baseball

The annual Perry Pitre Ford baseball jamboree will be held this weekend at Bobcat Field and Blue Jay Field.
The junior varsity jamboree will begin at 3:30 p.m. Friday when Iota takes on Sacred Heart of Ville Platte at St. Edmund’s field.
Teurlings Catholic –Opelousas Catholic will follow at 5 p.m., while the Mamou Green Demons will face Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m.
St. Edmund and Eunice High will conclude the junior varsity tournament at 8 p.m.
The varsity games will be held at Eunice High with eight games on Saturday.
Pine Prairie and Iota begin at 10 a.m., followed by Mamou - Pine Prairie at 11:10 a.m.
The Iota Bulldogs will take on Ascension Episcopal at 12:20 p.m.
Sacred Heart of Ville Platte will face Mamou at 1:30 p.m.
Ascension Episcopal will battle Opelousas Catholic at 2:40 p.m.
Host Eunice High will face Sacred Heart at 3:50 p.m., while St. Edmund will take on OC at 5 p.m.
The Bobcats and Blue Jays will cap off Saturday’s action at 6:10 p.m.
The freshmen jamboree will be held Sunday at EHS, beginning with a clash between Mamou and Notre Dame at 11:00 a.m.
Eunice will face Notre Dame at 12:30 before ending the tournament against Mamou at 2 p.m.
There are 10 teams participating in the St. Landry Parish softball jamboreee that begins today at Beau Chene including Eunice, St. Edmund, Westminster, Northwest, Port Barre, Lafayette Christian, Northside Christian, Opelousas High, Sacred Heart of Ville Platte.
The St. Edmund junior varisty will take on Port Barre at 6 p.m. today.
The Lady Jays JV will face the EHS junior varsity at 5 p.m. Friday.
Eunice will take on Port Barre at 6 p.m., while St. Edmund will battle rival Sacred Heart of Ville Platte at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, host Beau Chene will face EHS at 11 a.m.
Beau Chene and St. Edmund conclude the softball jamboree at 3 p.m.
