Lady Cats rally for win over WCA

The game was tied twice between Westminster Christian Academy and Eunice High as both teams made strong surges.
But The Lady Bobcats then outcscored the Lady Crusaders 7-1 to seal a 13-7 win.
WCA (1-3) opened the game with a 3-0 lead, begun when Autumn Brazier and Destiny Ledoux were both hit by pitches and scored as Brianna Winson reached on a Lady Cat fielding error.
Winston stole second and scored on Mallory Landry’s hit up the middle for a 3-0 advantage.
Eunice (2-4) exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a three-run lead.
Kaitlyn Joubert and Morgan Domingue both singled before Darrian Fontenot blasted a triple down the third base line.
Fontenot then scored on a hit by Destiny Edwards.
Edwards quickly stole second and third and scored on single by Amber Arvie.
The Lady Cats took a 5-3 lead when Arvie scored as Mia Lejeune reached on a Lady Crusader error.
Lejeune crossed home on Laney Miller’s single as Eunice pushed ahead, 6-3.
WCA tied the game with three runs in the top of the fifth, sparked when Brazier reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch.
Ledoux also advanced on a Lady Cat miscue and scored as Kaitlyn Pellerin reached on the third EHS error of the inning.
Alexis Jones belted a triple to plate Pellerin as the Lady Crusaders tied the game, 6-6.
Eunice regrouped with two runs in the bottom of the frame to grab an 8-6 advantage.
Domingue doubled, advanced on a passed ball and scored on Madison Cormier’s bunt.

The Lady Cats put the game away with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, begun as Joubert and Domingue singled and both scored as Cormier reached on a bunt error.

Fontenot scored when Arvie reached on a fielder’s choice.
Edwards walked, stole second and scored a passed ball to increase the Lady Cat margin to 13-6.
WCA scored a run in the top of the seventh as Ledoux tripled and crossed home plate on Pellerin’s hit up the middle.
Fontenot and Domingue both went 3-for-4 to lead the Lady Cats.
Arvie pitched the first four innings as she struck out three, had two hitbatsmen and allowed three runs on two hits.
Cormier earned the win as she pitched the final three frames with four runs on three hits with four strikeouts.
Eunice travels to Livonia on Monday before opening District 4-3A play at Northwest on Tuesday.
