Diocese of Lafayette announces appointments

Diocese of Lafayette Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel has released the following appointments and changes to go into effect on the indicated dates:
Effective June 27:
The Rev. Matthew Barzare has been appointed to the Office of Pastor of Saint Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island and its mission, Sacred Heart in Pecan Island for a term of six years.
The Rev. Mark Derise has been appointed to the Office of Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott for a term of six years.
The Rev. Andre R. Metrejean has been appointed to the Office of Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath for a term of six years.
The Rev. Patrick Broussard has been appointed as Parochial Vicar of Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Lafayette.
The Rev. Michael DeBlanc, III, has been appointed as Parochial Vicar of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Crowley.
The Rev. Nicholas DuPré has been appointed as Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Wisdom Parish in Lafayette.
The Rev. Taj Van Courtlan Glodd has been appointed as Parochial Vicar of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Ville Platte and Saint Joseph Parish in Ville Platte, and its mission, Sacred Heart in Belaire Cove.
The Rev. C. William Massie has been appointed as Parochial Vicar of Saint Genevieve Parish in Lafayette.
On June 11:
The Rev. Mr. Alexander Albert will be ordained to the Holy Priesthood and will be appointed as Parochial Vicar of Saint Peter Parish in New Iberia.
The Rev. Mr. Joel Christopher Faulk will be ordained to the Holy Priesthood and will be appointed as Parochial Vicar of Saint Pius X Parish in Lafayette.
The Rev. Mr. Michael Richard will be ordained to the Holy Priesthood and will be appointed as Parochial Vicar of Saint Mary Magdalen Parish in Abbeville.
On June 4 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, Deshotel ordained 11 men to the permanent diaconate. These men are:
Marty Cannon, appointed to Sacred Heart Parish, Broussard.
Ron Chauvin, appointed to Saint Elizabeth Seton Parish, Lafayette.
Joseph Liuzza, appointed to Saint Joseph Parish, Parks.
José Luna-Becerra, appointed to Saint Jules Parish, Lafayette.
Shawn Melancon, appointed to Saint Peter Parish, Washington.
Steve Rogers, appointed to Saint Nicholas Parish, Lydia.
Sammy Russo, appointed to Saint Pius X Parish, Lafayette.
John Bennett Soileau, appointed to Our Lady Queen of All Saints Parish, Ville Platte.
Cliff Tanner, appointed to Saints Peter & Paul Parish, Scott.
Coby Thomas, appointed to Our Lady of Wisdom Parish, Lafayette.
Doug Wimberly, appointed to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, Church Point.
