Eunice Farmer’s Market summer set
The Eunice Farmers’ Market will meet on Second Street twice a week, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, and again Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
This schedule will continue, weather permitting, throughout the summer. A variety of home-made items and fresh produce will be available.

Community Garden open hour Tuesdays
The Eunice Community Garden’s open hour on Tuesday has been suspended until milder weather arrives, Patricia Brown, interim garden coordinator, said.

Program on franchise development offered
A program to learn about franchising will be held by St. Landry Economic Development from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Landry Economic Development office, 5367 I-49 South Service Road, Opelousas.
The guest speaker will be Roy Holleman of FranOwner, a franchise consulting and advisory buisness.
The program is to include methods of researching and identifying franchise opportunities that present a chance for success; funding options; and services for franchisors.

Golf lessons for Youth set Monday
Eunice Country Club will offer free golf lessons for girls and boys ages 8-14 on three dates, Monday, and June 27, and July 11.
Due to limitations of space and equipment, only the first 30 applicants will be accepted.
For reservations, call 337-457-5173, provide your name, age, and a call back phone number. The applicant must have his or her own transportation to the city golf course in Eunice.
Saturday program at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.

St. Mathilda Sausage po-boy sale July 6
The St. Mathilda KPC Ladies Auxiliary will have a Sausage PoBoy sandwish and drink fundraiser sale on Wednesday, July 6 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Pick up is at the Bishop Ceaser Center. Donation of $6 will be accepted.
Summer camp at Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Summer Cultural Camp for the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve’s Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 11 to 15.
The camp is for ages 9 to 12. The registration fee, cash or check is $50.
The center is located at at 250 West Park Ave., Eunice.

VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.
