St. Edmund upgrades technology services

During the 2015-16 school year, the St. Edmund administration explored several options to improve technological opportunities for both faculty and students. The school contracted with Premiere Data Systems for its IT services. In the spring of 2016, St. Edmund Advisory Board hosted the second “Dancing with the Stars, Blue Jay Style.” Proceeds from this event are being utilized to upgrade the school’s technology infrastructure. In June, St. Edmund began Stage 1 of technology upgrades by having buildings rewired for internet use, as well as, wireless access points and network servers upgraded. This coming fall, St. Edmund plans to implement Stage 2 of its one-to-one student/computer initiative. St. Edmund High school students will have the option to participate using Google Chrome notebooks. Stage 2 will include training of faculty and students to use these new technologies to the fullest potential. Brian Miller of Premiere Data Systems uploads equipment at St. Edmund. (Submitted Photo)
