Community Garden open hour Tuesdays
The Eunice Community Garden’s open hour on Tuesday has been suspended until milder weather arrives, Patricia Brown, interim garden coordinator, said.

JA Summer Book Drive until July 27
The Junior Auxiliary of Eunice is sponsoring a Summer book drive to benefit Highland Elementary’s library.
There will be drop-off boxes at locations in Eunice: City hall, Frosty Spoon and Mr. Gattis.
Donations of gently used books will be accepted. Donations will be accepted until July 27.
Books, from kindergarten through fourth-grade, will be accepted.

ECCBC summer concert set July 14, 15
The Eunice Community Concert Band and Choir, Inc. will present its Summer Concert “Summer Pops!” July 15 and July 15 at First Baptist Church at 7 p.m.
The entire family can enjoy Community Choir, Concert Band and Children’s Choir and art exhibit by the Fine Arts Council of Eunice.
Some selections include: In Summer (From Disney’s Frozen), Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Now Let Me Fly, He Keeps Me Singing, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and much more.
Tickets are $15 adults and $2 children under 12, and are available by calling 457-1776.
Young Adult Summer Theater camp set
The Eunice Players’ Theatre will present a Young Adult Summer Theatre Camp for ages 11-18 July 18 through July 30 at the Eunice Players’ Theatre, 121 South Second Street,
Registration day is July 16 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Players Theatre. There will be no cost to register. Space is limited to the first 15 students.
Information packets will be handed out upon registration.
Eunice Farmer’s Market summer set
The Eunice Farmers’ Market will meet on Second Street twice a week, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, and again Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
This schedule will continue, weather permitting, throughout the summer. A variety of home-made items and fresh produce will be available.

Free medication consultations July 12
Mercy Regional Medical Center and Acadian Medical Center will offer a free medication review/consultation with a pharmacist and along with free blood pressure check up on the following dates:
– July 12 at AMC campus in Eunice, from 8:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m. inside the hospital’s lobby.
–July 13 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte campus from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. inside the hospital’s lobby.
Patients should bring in all prescription meds, over the counter medications, vitamins, and supplements for the pharmacist to review with them.
Patients are encouraged to ask any questions they have about the medications they are taking.
Golf lessons for Youth set July 11
Eunice Country Club will offer free golf lessons for girls and boys ages 8-14 on July 11.
Due to limitations of space and equipment, only the first 30 applicants will be accepted.
For reservations, call 337-457-5173, provide your name, age, and a call back phone number. The applicant must have his or her own transportation to the city golf course in Eunice.
Saturday program at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
Saturday programs at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, 250 W. Park Ave., Eunice, are the Explore & Restore craft workshop for kids, from 10 a.m. to noon; Cajun Conversations meets 1 to 2:30 p.m. to learn and practice conversational Cajun French; Music and dancing kicks off at 2:45 p.m. and ends with the cooking demonstration and sampling at 4 p.m. Admission to the center and programs is free.

Annual male chorus musical set Aug. 20
The Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice will have its 15th annual male chorus musical at 6 p.m. Aug. 20. On Aug. 21 during the church’s 8:30 a.m. service there will be an annual Men’s Day service with the Rev. Caleb Semien of Word Ministries as the guest speaker.
The public is invited to attend. The church is located at 341 Anne St. in Eunice.
VFW bingo held Thursdays, Sundays
The VFW Post 8971 holds bingo for the public at 7 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday at the VFW Hall located on U.S. 190 East. All proceeds from Bingo games goes back to the community.
