Surgeon
METAIRIE – Services for retired surgeon Dr. James Corcoran will be Saturday. He died May 13 at age 77.
He practiced with the Browne-McHardy Clinic for 25 years. After retiring as a surgeon he practiced occupational medicine. He was former Chief of Surgery at East Jefferson, Lakeside and Kenner Regional Hospitals. He was on-site physician for Avondale Shipyard.
Survivors include his wife Margaret and two sons.
Arrangements are by Leitz-Eagan.
School superintendent
LULING – Services for retired school superintendent Dr. Rodney Lafon will be Thursday. He died May 12 at age 63.
He worked almost 40 years in the St. Charles Parish public school system, 18 of them as superintendent.
Survivors include his wife Joyce and his mother.
Arrangements are by Jacob Schoen & Son.
