Physician, banker
JENNINGS – Arrangements are pending for banker and physician Dr. Joe Hargroder. He died May 15 at age 83.
He was a practicing physician until 1992. He was a founding board member of Mid-South Bank, raising 25 percent of the capital to start the bank in 1985. He was chairman of the bank board from 1990 until 2012 and was a board member at his death.

Exxon distributor, car dealer
OAKDALE – Services for Exxon distributor and car dealer Jesse Boyd, Jr. will be May 25. He died May 15 at age 89.
He was an Arm Air Corps veteran of World War II. His Boyd Oil Co. was an Exxon distributor for almost 70 years. He was a GM car dealer for 49 years. He was on the board of a number of organizations and businesses, including Allen State Bank and First Guaranty Bank. He was a member of the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission for nine years.
Survivors include his wife Edna, two sons and a daughter.
