Former legislator, LOOP director
BATON ROUGE – Services for former legislator and executive director of Associated Builders and Contractors Terry Gee will be June 1. He died May 19 at age 73.
He was a three-term member of the Louisiana House, where he was instrumental in revamping Louisiana labor law and had significant impact on tax control and state spending. He was appointed by Gov. Mike Foster to oversee the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port.
Survivors include his wife Gale and a daughter.
BATON ROUGE – Services for long-time DOTD real estate lawyer and decorated Pearl Harbor survivors Manuel Gan, Sr. were May 24. He died May 21 at age 92.
He served on a minesweeper at Pearl Harbor and was a decorated Navy veteran of World War II. He also worked for Lamar Outdoor Advertising and operated his own real estate and right-of-way acquisition company,
Survivors include his wife Lynn, three sons and a daughter.
Long-time Catholic educator
CARENCRO – Services for long-time Catholic educator Sister Rose Aimee Breaux will be Tuesday. She died May 23 at age 95.
Formerly known as Sister M. Thomas Breaux, she had been a Sister of Mount Carmel for 75 years. For more than 50 years she taught at schools in Rayne, Lafayette, Thibodaux, New Orleans, Marrero, Ames and Westwego.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas.
