Timber/wildlife expert
RUSTON – Services are Monday for timber/wildlife management specialist and former director of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission Hugh Durham, IV. He died June 6 at age 51,
He was former leader of International Paper’s Natural Resources Group and was regional manager of public affairs in IP’s Jackson, Miss. office. He held the Arkansas wildlife post from 2000 to 2003, and began a company providing fire suppression and fire management services to the forest products industry.
Survivors include his wife Carol and four children.
Arrangements are by Owens.

Offshore pioneer
NEW ORLEANS – Services for Tidewater founder Alden “Doc” Laborde will be June 13. He died June 6 at age 98.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He designed and built the first submersible offshore drilling rig and founded ODECO, Tidewater, Gulf Island Fabrication and the Almar Foundation. He was a member of the National Business Hall of Fame.
Survivors include five children.
Arrangements are by Lake Lawn.

Social Security supervisor
LAFAYETTE – Services for long-time district Social Security supervisor Phil Kees will be June 11. He died June 7 at age 83.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He founded the SLYI youth sports organization.
Survivors include his wife Pris and five children.

SLEMCO engineer
LAFAYETTE – Services for retired SLEMCo director of engineering Irving Manuel are Monday. He died June 5 at age 85.
He worked for SLEMCO for more than 30 years.
Survivors include three children.
Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

Former McNeese, SLU coach
SUMMIT, Miss. – Services are Tuesday for former McNeese State and and Southeastern Louisiana basketball coach Ernest “E.W.” Foy. He died June 7 at age 76.
He coached Baton Rouge High to a state basketball championship, then worn for first conference championship for Southeastern and was named Gulf States Conference coach of the year. He was also coach of the year at McNeese State, where he won a Southland Conference championship. He left coaching in 1977 and opened a Wester Auto store in McComb, Miss. He was a member of the William Carey University Sports Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife Betty, and three children.
Arrangements are by Catchings.
