Former NASA engineer
CROWLEY – Services for retired NASA engineer Alfred Orillion will be July 8. He died July 3 at age 85.
While at the Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. he designed propulsion systems for the Saturn V, the Skylab Space Station and the Space Shuttle. He was patent-holding inventor of a propulsion system used as an assist unit to augment an astronaut’s jumping ability on the lunar surface. After retiring he designed and built a solar-operated water heater system.

Orthopaedic surgeon
NEW ORLEANS – Arrangements for orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Harry Hoerner are under direction of anewtraditionbegins.com. He died at age 74.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a surgeon for 30 years and was former chief of surgery at Methodist Hospital and a clinical instructor at LSU Medical School.
Survivors include his wife LInda and three sons.
