Motorcycle cop
ALEXANDRIA – Services for the city’s first motorcycle policeman Michael Fisher, Sr. will be Sept, 30. He died Sept. 26 at age 90.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired police captain. During his career he served as escort and security for many celebrities, including John Wayne, Michael Landon, Fess Parker, Dale Robertson, Porter Wagner and William Holden.
Survivors include a daughter Sandra.
Arrangements are by Rush, Pineville.

Civic leader
SHREVEPORT – Services for civic leader and philanthropist Peggy Selber will be Sept. 29. She died Sept. 27 at age 83.
She was an active civic leader in Shreveport and in New Orleans, serving on a number of board and advisory boards including the Sci-Port Discovery Center, the Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Louisiana Public Broadcasting, Southfield School Book Fair, Louisiana Women’s Golf Association, Shreveport Women’s Golf Association, Shreveport Country Club Golf Association and East Ridge Country Club Golf Association. She was an accomplished artist and an accomplished amateur golfer. She and her late husband Aaron were recognized as Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year.
Survivors include four daughters.

Southern math prof
BATON ROUGE – Services for long-time Southern University math professor Theodore Morgan will be Sept. 30. He died Sept. 26 at age 82.
He education career covered more than 50 years. He was director of an inter-disciplinary course department program in the 1970s that included 13 colleges. He was also former chair of the Math Department.
Survivors include his wife Barbara and four children.
Arrangements are by Hall Davis.

Former LSU Union director
BATON ROUGE – Services for former LSU Union director Michael Derr were Sept. 28. He died Sept. 25 at age 70.
He was the union’s director for 28 years, retiring in 2014.
Survivors include two daughters.
